"The creator's fingerprint can be found all over His creation."
Listen to the Devotional!
God is the creator of everything. People who don’t believe in God are quick to say that modern understanding through science has disproved His existence, but as a simple counterpoint, some of the greatest minds in science, past and present, reject such a claim. The creator’s fingerprint can be found all over His creation.
“For since the creation of the world his invisible attributes – his eternal power and divine nature – have been clearly seen, because they are understood through what has been made. So people are without excuse.” (Romans 1:20; NET)
When we observe the beauty of the physical world, from the ant to the cosmos, we can marvel that all things are crafted by the powerful word of God.
“By the LORD’s decree the heavens were made; by a mere word from his mouth all the stars in the sky were created.” (Psalm 33:6; NET)
Not only has the entire universe been created, but it’s been created for a purpose. God did not just set things in motion to walk away from it. He has always intended to enjoy it with His children. God created mankind that everyone might appreciate and share in His creation.
“For the LORD is God, and he created the heavens and earth and put everything in place. He made the world to be lived in, not to be a place of empty chaos. “I am the LORD,” he says, “and there is no other.” (Isaiah 45:18; NLT)
God has always had a plan for the earth to be filled with His glory. It is certainly not true today, but we can certainly believe God when He states what He plans to do. And He has great plans for the earth.
“But truly, as I live, all the earth shall be filled with the glory of the LORD” (Numbers 14:21; NKJV)
God wants the earth to be filled with His glory. For this to happen, there needs to be major transformations. Not with the physical creation, but within ourselves.
“And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what [is] that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” (Romans 12:2; NKJV)
Jesus reflected God’s character and glory perfectly. This is what we are called to be, as best as we can in the present, and more perfectly in the kingdom. And in the kingdom, we will be changed more perfectly into the likeness of Jesus.
“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.” (Revelation 21:4; KJV)
So, we can rejoice that God has a plan for His creation. He created all things for the purpose of being an extension of His character. It will not go to waste. If we are ever disturbed by how the physical earth may be treated or damaged, do not worry, the creator of heaven and earth has a plan. And He wants us to be a part of that plan.
“You are worthy, O Lord our God, to receive glory and honor and power. For you created all things, and they exist because you created what you pleased.” (Revelation 4:11; NLT)
Let’s praise and thank God for His wonderful creation! We look forward to enjoying His perfect world in the Kingdom of God here on Earth, and His glory filling all the earth in perfection, just as God had intended from the beginning.
